Journey in Building a Seamless Digital Payment Experience at MyTelkomsel
In March 2022, I joined Phincon as a key member of the Transaction & Payment team, contributing to the next evolution of MyTelkomsel, Telkom Group’s flagship digital platform. This wasn’t just another app update — it was about transforming how millions of users recharge, pay, and manage their telecom services — seamlessly, securely, and smartly.
As part of the core team, I played an essential role in designing, developing, and maintaining the payment ecosystem within the MyTelkomsel mobile application. My work focused on empowering the app with diverse, reliable, and future-ready payment methods, including:
- Pulsa (mobile credit) – Ensuring real-time top-up accuracy and instant success feedback
- QRIS – Integrating with national QR standards to enable cashless transactions at retail partners
- Paylater (credit-on-demand) – Building trust via smooth approval flows and clear repayment visibility
- E-wallets – Full integration with Gopay, OVO, DANA, ShopeePay, and LinkAja, enhancing digital convenience
- Virtual Account – Supporting B2B and bulk transactions via bank-based payment references
- Debit Instant – Delivering direct bank payments with minimal friction
- Credit Card – Ensuring PCI-DSS compliant flows for card transactions
But it wasn’t just about adding features — it was about creating the right experience. I collaborated closely with the Product Owner, Mobile Engineers, Backend Engineers, and QA Team to map data and pulse packages in line with business strategies and user behavior insights. Whether it was recommending a 30-day data bundle based on user usage patterns or aligning promo pricing with campaign goals, I ensured payment flows were not only functional but intelligent and personalized.
Every update we shipped strengthened trust — helping users feel confident that their top-ups were instant, their payments secure, and their choices smart.
This project taught me the power of user-centric engineering — where technology meets real-world needs. And seeing such a critical platform used daily by millions across Indonesia? That’s the kind of impact I love to build.
